Tipping and service-charge law in Hawaii

Hawaii requires a food or beverage service charge to be distributed to employees as tip income, or else the business must clearly disclose that the charge is used for other costs and what portion reaches servers. The Hawaii Supreme Court applied this rule in August 2025.
