Public record documented by TipRecord: On February 2, 2021, the Federal Trade Commission announced that Amazon agreed to pay $61.7 million, the full amount the FTC alleged it withheld from Amazon Flex drivers' tips between 2016 and 2019 while telling customers and drivers that drivers received 100% of tips. The order bars the company from misrepresenting whether an amount paid by a customer is a tip.
